One of the most fulfilling and most challenging journeys you'll ever go on is seeing what your body is able to do. Maybe you are in shape, completely out of shape, or merely expecting to lose some weight. However, developing a body that you really can be proud, one that's healthy, and lets you truly adore every possible last inch of it truly is an amazing journey to travel down.

So what's the key to making a long-lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every single day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you may become deeply discouraged and daunted by the task at hand. As an alternative understand you're competing against and with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But every single time you do, you must come back with a firm dedication to achieving something that you really wanted. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field each day. Without it, you'll suffer the the inescapable and bad reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on making the body of their dreams because they are missing the ability to keep on coming back time and again.

Commitment also suggests itself, though not the commitment that you're probably thinking of in this case. In our world, we are fed this strong idea that everything must happen right now and if it doesn't happen right now, it isn't worth it. Your body is going to drastically change acrossthe years, so why don't you make a real lifelong promise to remaining healthy? Is that a sexy packageable idea? Not particularly. But is it something that would really change the course of your life? Absolutely.

When you make a promise to keeping your body healthy throughout your whole life, you may eventually reach whatever goal you wish. It is all about seeing the overall picture than just the few months in front of you till summer. It's honestly about developing something you can be pleased with for all the years to come. For me, that new concept changed the course of my life as I was able to eventually hit my fitness goals after 12 years of wrestling with my self image and food issues. But as soon as I shifted my perspective of what I was attempting to attain, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it works for you. Make a total commitment to keeping healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all aspects of your life, and things will change radically.
