Gymnastics in Missouri is highly developed and exercised at the highest levels in the world. As a sport, it does not only base on flexibility, agility, coordination, and balance, rather it also calls for physical strength and power to perform the elements consisted in the sport. People who specialize in gymnastics are called gymnasts and they can be people from both genders. Gymnasts start performing the exercises at varied ages. Other levels involve participants of five years while others involve people of under twenty years and so on and so forth. Each level of participation requires a given level of skills with the highest being the international games.

Gymnastic encompasses several disciplines, all of which are performed by world class athletes. Some of the disciplines are trampolining, team gym, tumbling, aerobic, artistic, and acrobatic gymnastics. The most known, which is also the most practiced discipline is the artistic gymnastic. This discipline entails events for both men and women. People compete against people of their own sex in each category of events. Besides being a highly competitive sport, gymnastic can be practiced as a recreational activity.

The competitive edition of this game may be practiced in both environments, that is, outdoor and indoor. The gymnasts perform moves whereas judges, usually sitting at an altitude observe and award marks. A system called execution score is the basis of awarding marks. Execution score confines the overall marks one can attain to ten. Judges deduct points from the overall ten points basing on how effectual the gymnast performs. The points left after the gymnast finishes is the final score.

Currently however, a new way of awarding points referred to as the difficulty score is coming. The score has no restriction to number of points an individual can score. It bases on the degree of difficulty of the elements one does and how effective they are executed. The score bases on whether one finishes all events or fails.

Difficulty score system is presently in use within the United States. It is viewed as a revolution in the sport altogether. This score system has made gymnasts to invest more efforts in executing skills well. They also try to learn how to link skills to each other when performing. Infact properly linked elements when performing can earn the contestant many marks since it is a key field considered during awarding of marks.

Gymnastics in Missouri is taught in training facilities evenly distributed in the area. There are several facilities and legendary gymnasts within the area for one to learn from. Training facilities charge reasonably and teach best events for recreational and competition purposes.
